[補寫]28, June move to Parramatta (Sydney Suburb)－Cindy's Journey

一直住在那個小強很多的地方，等的就是這一天呀，因為9,June才交屋的，所以沒有什麼時間可以裝修，甚至地毯也還沒有換(因為是老房子，舊的地毯有夠髒的，有股霉味)，不過我實在沒有辦法忍耐在住在F1了，所以在我考完IELTS的下一週就準備搬家，我們的新家在Sydney的西邊的Suburb，Parramatta(附上地圖地理位置如下)。

查了一下Wikipedia，Parramatta可是個歷史悠久的城市，跟Sydney建立的時間一樣在1788年，第一批英國移民就是在那一年來的，因為在Sydney Cove，就是Circular Quay那邊的海灣附近(Opera House那邊)，沒有足夠的養分的土壤種植，以供給1000個囚犯，所以他們才選擇了Parramatta這個地方，因為Parramatta所在的這一區叫作Inner west，據說是Sydney唯一看不到海的地方，但是從Circular Quay可以坐Ferry沿著Parramatta River到這邊。另外，Parramatta在澳洲原住民的土話意思是 “鰻魚（eel）居住的地方”。

Parramatta的火車站很大，旁邊就是bus站，而且看起來很新，可能是因為用玻璃跟鋼架設計的關係，有現代化的感覺；旁邊就是全澳洲第三大的Shoppingtown-Parramatta Westfield(證據＝＞)，號稱是南半球最大的shopping town，可惡，大小竟然輸給在Melbourne的Knox City Shopping Centre和Westfield Fountain Gate，哼！不過在New South Wales(Sydney所在的這一州)是最大的了吧！看來我改天要去Melbourne見識一下什麼是比Shopping “TOWN”還大的Shopping mall啦！也因為這個Shopping town常常讓原本從火車站只要十分鐘就能到家的路程，變成兩三個小時，鬼打牆在shopping town裡面 “迷路”啦！

新家是一個兩個房間的Unit，Unit跟apartment的差別在於有沒有電梯，這個Unit雖然是三十年的房子，可是之前的屋主曾經裝修過廚房和浴室，所以看起來還蠻新蠻乾淨的，也是爸媽對我們這兩個任性的小孩子最寬容的付出。

由於我們趕著搬進來，連地毯都還沒換，澳洲人工真的是有夠貴的，拆個地毯就要大概兩三百澳幣，所以我跟哥哥就決定自己把舊地毯拆下來，真的超累的，地毯下面還有鋪一層海綿，然後被釘在旁邊的木條上，我拿著鐵鎚敲敲敲，花了兩三天才拆完，不過那幾天晚上都超好睡的，看來是很好的運動。

再來就是廚房，遠遠看是還蠻乾淨的，不過櫃子的上方，厚厚的一層咖哩油垢，連電爐下方也是一堆咖哩渣，小強的屍體更是屍橫遍野，足足花了我至少八、九個小時才清乾淨，這也是我討厭印度人的開始！(因為之前的房客是印度人，衛生習慣實在是有夠差的)，那幾個月聞到印度咖哩的味道就覺得噁心想吐。

再經過兩三個星期的清理和打掃，終於有了煥然一新的新家，也開始了我的通勤生活，如果幸運坐到Express做到學校只要20分鐘，要不然就得要30-40分鐘，搭乘火車通勤也是我這輩子的第一次，在火車上也碰到不少有趣的事情，而我最常在火車上做的事情不外乎就是睡覺補眠囉，總之，新家讓我展開新的生活啦！

We moved to Parramatta because I cannot bear to live in F1 anymore. Even the new house haven’t well- prepared for living, for example, the old carpet haven’t changed (This is a Big problem, because the old one has already become moldy!). My new place is in Parramatta, the western of Sydney.(see Sydney map)

According to Wikipedia, Parramatta is an antique city, found in 1788, the same as Sydney. The first British colony found that the soil near Sydney Cove was too poor to grow food for 1000 convicts to survive, thus, they chose Parramatta. Parramatta is located in the west area of Sydney, which is the only place that you cannot see the sea. The meaning of the word “Parramatta” in Aboriginal’s dialect is “the place that eel dwell”.

Parramatta train station is built of glass and rigid frame, thus, it looks modern. Near the train station is currently the third largest shopping mall in Australia after Knox City Shopping Centre (in Melbourne)and Westfield Fountain Gate(in Melbourne). But it still the first largest in New South Wales! I am curious about how large will Knox City Shopping Centre and Westfield Fountain Gate be! Next time if I go to Melbourne, I definitely will go there!! By the way, normally it takes me only 10 minutes to walk home from the train station, but I am always “lost” in the shopping town and back home 2 or 3 hours later.

My new home is a two-bedroom unit. Although the unit is 30 years old, it still remains clean after fixing up by the previous house owner. This is also the love that my parents gave my brother and me.

In order to save money(about 2-300 AUD), we decided to take off the old carpet by ourselves. It was really a big work for me. Under the carpet, there is a sponge, and the carpet is fixed by the wood stick which is nailed on the ground. After taking off all the carpets, I was exhausted.(see the pictures : Change Carpet and Carpet’s structure)

The kitchen seemed clean when you saw roughly, but when I got closer..oh my god, at the top of the cupboard is full of curry dirt and the dead bodies of cockroaches. The previous tenants are Indians, their personal hygiene is awful.(see the picture : cleaning the kitchen)

After cleaning the unit two to three weeks, it looked better. For me, I started my new life to become a commuter. If lucky, the express train only takes me 20 minutes to school, or I need 30-40 minutes. The most often thing that I do on the train is sleep.
After moving in new place, my new life begins!
